Student Council

The president is present at all Student Council meetings and helps to run the meeting. The president helps create the agenda, completes reports, maintains communication with all other Student Council members, and makes sure that meetings and procedures are carried out efficiently and according to the Student Council By-Laws. He/she delegates tasks as needed, oversees, and follows-up on all delegated tasks. The president covers current news and all classroom issues and concerns. She/he delivers or delegates student council news as needed over the school’s intercom system. She/he helps with the collection and distribution of items that will be donated. (open to 5th grade candidates only)

The vice president is present at all Student Council meetings and helps to run the meeting in the absence of the president. The vice president assists the president with reports, communication, procedures, and carries out other duties as appropriately assigned by the president. She/he helps with the collection and distribution of items that will be donated. (open to 4th/5th grade candidates)

The secretaries attend all Student Council meetings. The recording secretary keeps the attendance record and writes the minutes of all Student Council meetings and makes and distributes copies for all members. The corresponding secretary will write thank you notes and coordinate the distribution of information to all classrooms. Both secretaries help to update information on our Student Council bulletin board. (open to 4th/5th grade candidates)

The publicist attends all Student Council meetings. She/he updates and maintains the Student Council section of our school newsletter, Cheetah Bytes, with the assistance of our parent coordinator, Mrs. Hom. She/he generates publicity to promote student council activities. He/she delivers or delegates student council news as needed over the school’s intercom system and shares pre-recorded videos with Mrs. Boudouris for her to include in the Monday Morning Message. (open to 4th/5th grade candidates)

The representative will attend every meeting and bring back news discussed in meetings to their classrooms. They will be responsible for making announcements to their peers, keeping them up on all Student Council news, collecting classroom feedback, and reporting information back to Student Council as needed. Class representatives build and maintain Natoma Station school spirit. He/she helps with the collection and distribution of items that will be donated.
